Indiana Legal Services (ILS) is a law firm with heart! Since 1974, Indiana`s regional legal services programs have been funded by the Legal Services Corporation. Indiana Free Legal Answers is a website where you can ask a question about your non-criminal law problem and get a free answer from a lawyer. Through our low-income LGBT project, including our LGBT Victim Support Project, we provide legal assistance to low-income LGBT people in Indiana. Indiana Legal Services, Inc. (ILS) is a nonprofit law firm that provides free civil legal assistance to eligible low-income individuals throughout the state of Indiana.

ILS helps clients facing legal issues that affect their ability to have basic items such as food, shelter, income, medical care, or personal safety. Most of the cases handled by ILS include family law, domestic violence, housing, consumer law, access to health care, and access to government services. They do not deal with criminal cases. As part of our military assistance project, we provide legal assistance to low-income Hoosier military personnel, veterans and their families. ILS helps people protect access to health services, including cases involving Medicare and Medicaid. Screening hours (office): Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Recording) Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. ILS helps hoosiers protect their consumer rights by helping them with predatory loans, buyouts, wage garnishments, collection abuse, bankruptcies, etc. ILS supports the well-being of families, especially victims of domestic violence and children at risk of abuse or neglect. South Bend volunteers are asked to commit to working a regular 31/2-hour shift (morning or afternoon) per week for at least six months (alternative arrangements may be made for students).
