Legends of the Alliance is a free companion app for Imperial Assault that promises to revolutionize the way you play the game. Until now, your Imperial assault campaign parties were divided between two camps. Up to four players became Alliance heroes and fought for freedom throughout the galaxy. The last player played the role of the Empire – commanding the Imperial forces, triggering powerful events and serving as an adversary for the heroes throughout the campaign. As mentioned above, Legends of the Alliance and its co-op campaign experience are not meant to replace the traditional Imperial assault campaign. Instead, it offers a new option for players looking for a different experience. And indeed, Legends of the Alliance evolves and includes more content depending on the size of your physical collection of Imperial Assaults! Legends of the Alliance is not designed to replace the traditional campaign or skirmish game for the Imperial assault. Instead, the three variants will continue to coexist, providing players with distinct gaming experiences. App-based cooperative game for Imperial Attack Just like in a traditional campaign, Legends of the Alliance gives you the opportunity to nurture and upgrade your hero after each mission. At the end of your mission – victory or defeat – you return to a map of the galaxy. From there, you can learn new skills from your hero`s class cards and spend the credits you`ve earned to buy new weapons and equipment from the armory.
The companion app automatically tracks every class card you buy and every new item you buy, making it easier than ever to retrieve your cards and start reading when you return to your campaign. As for how Imperial Assault plays with the app, that`s fantastic. I played a few solo games and never felt overwhelmed. Imperial enemies controlled by the app have their own agendas (which change from turn to turn), so you just have to move and roll for the Empire. Then you disconnect from your heroes, it`s your turn, mark defeated enemies as needed in the app, rinse and repeat. With the classic Star Wars sounds and effects that the app uses to enhance gameplay, I was much more immersed. I`d love to see a soundboard in future updates (ala Syrinscape), but I`ll take the ambient sounds for now. Starting a campaign is as easy as clicking the New Campaign button. You immediately have the choice to follow the tutorial or start the campaign itself. I would recommend following the tutorial even if you have already played. You`ll get used to how the app handles gameplay and deployment, and get XP and credits for your issues (more on how you can benefit from it later). What are your organizational topics? That`s what`s stopping me from playing this game more, I think.
Well, that and setting up the boards. Part of the problem is that fantasy flying games love their tangled rulebooks as much as they love their miniatures. Between the four (FOUR) rule sets and online errata that have been released since the game`s release, there is a lot of material to go through just to set up a game. – Back to Hoth digital campaign now available in Italian After placing your card tiles (which, while they`re a mess like mine, is still the worst part of the setup), the tutorial walks you through movement, item interaction, basic and advanced combat, and covers mission objectives and glory (which will earn you better item rewards as you go. of your progress). The tutorial is divided into three short chapters to teach you the basics so you can take breaks when needed. If you skip the tutorial, you`ll be thrown right in the middle of things, an ongoing exchange of fire on the moon of the Endor forest. Either way, it takes an hour or two to reach your first major campaign milestone and be rewarded. It`s a fantastic addition to playing an already fantastic game. It is a companion app that allows you to play a new campaign in cooperative or single player mode. The boxing game already allows 1v1 skirmishes and a 1v1-4 campaign mode, which is completely different from the LOTA campaign. For me, it allowed me to play WITH my 2 obsolete daughters, while standard games made me want to play against them.
Together, as a member of the team, I can give them advice as we move forward through the missions. There have already been some good updates that allow you to play more random enemies from your own collection, Ally to join you and heroes to choose from. I look forward to future campaign updates based on Box add-ons. Thank you FFG for expanding my gaming options at no extra cost to me. This has led me to buy more add-ons and play the game more than before, which I will be happy to do. A brilliant model that more companies could learn from. That`s why I was beyond excited when FFG released the Star Wars: Imperial Assault – Legends of the Alliance app. Similar to the Descent: Journeys in the Dark app for Fantasy Flight`s dungeon crawler, this app plays the role of GM, executes the imperial characters, and tracks the progress of the campaign so you can focus more on the game. After completing a mission, you can spend the credits you`ve earned in the in-game shop. You`ll find equipment from the main game that you can purchase and equip for your characters for their next mission (items don`t need to be permanently assigned to heroes, although some items obviously benefit certain heroes or hero types). You can also spend any XP earned to acquire new character abilities. It`s a much nicer system than keeping track of everything in spreadsheets or trying to keep all of your character`s cards together in the box.
It also makes setting up a new mission much faster. You`ll earn new missions as you progress, gain additional allies (who can also reach elite status), and discover new paths to take from the main campaign screen. Of course, the Legends of the Alliance companion app does much more than just reveal the map and describe important events – it also leads Imperial forces into battle against your heroes! Once a hero is activated, the app selects an Imperial unit to activate and sends it forward with cruel cunning to isolate your heroes and eliminate the weak. Each Imperial activation gives your unit a unique special ability to increase its powers, as well as a list of actions the unit can perform. You collect your hero cards, all the starting items they have and your Minis. Then place the rest of your components nearby and follow the instructions in the app. What about traditional campaigns and skirmish? At its core, Legends of the Alliance introduces a full-fledged cooperative way to play the Imperial assault, control all the soldiers and responsibilities once taken over by the Imperial player, and free you and your friends to unite against the Galactic Empire. I love this app, it made me want to play a game that I had put aside for a while and I am interested in expanding my collection.
When the app runs the Imperials, I have the option to play with my friends and family. I`m always stuck trying to be a game master, so I can never participate in the surprising turn of the story. This app does it brilliantly. Few things I`d like to see 1 audio narration of the story (like the Descent app) would make it much more immersive.2 Better information about character stats in the app. For example, when you select a hero in the game, you have the opportunity to defeat and rotate the character. If I could see their card stat upgrades and items when I clicked on the character, it would be huge to free up more space on the game table and track information between games. 3. A damage and stretch counter for characters. 4 more campaigns added to the app. Fuck, I love you.
This game gives me this campaign feeling that I don`t have Star Wars Legion. What I buy the whole range of products (apps for Legion would be great) If you own Imperial Assault, you need the app. This is the best way to introduce new players to the game, rekindle interest or simply make the game more accessible. If you`ve never played Imperial Assault before, it`s easier than ever to get started. Get a copy, download the free Star Wars: Imperial Assault – Legends of the Alliance app from the iOS, Android, Steam and Amazon app stores, and start your adventure on a table far, far away. With the Alliance Legends app, the cooperative campaign for Imperial Assault captures the entire campaign experience. Once downloaded, you will be offered a tutorial that will teach you the game and the differences between the cooperative campaign and the traditional game. You`ll also be invited to launch a brand new campaign with five missions: Flight of the Freedom Fighter. This campaign begins immediately after the destruction of the Death Star on Yavin 4 and sends you and your fellow heroes on an adventure across the galaxy – and you only need the Imperial Attack Base Set to play. The Death Star has been destroyed – but as debris rains down on Yavin 4, the war is not over.
The time of heroes is not over yet. On the contrary, the rebellion needs heroes today more than ever. The Galactic Civil War continues to rage and it`s time for you and your friends to come together and travel side by side in a galaxy full of danger, excitement and adventure you never imagined. I just played the base game campaign with my wife and it was a great time. There are a few things that would help improve it, like a back button so you can see the things where Imperials are being used if you accidentally clicked Next.
